Cantina Rooftop

Following the boring weeks of quarantine and uncertainty about the Coronavirus, my sister and I came across a rooftop in the Lower East Side of Manhattan on Instagram! Cantina offers a Mexican styled dinning experience with a view of Manhattan. They offer various Mexican cuisines and  specially made cocktails and other drinks.

Drinks

I went the traditional route at the time and ordered a coke (below 21 much?). My sister however did a round of Pina Rita which is a blend of Mezcal Burrito Fiestero, Pineapple, Lemon and Ginger syrup.

Appetizer

We decided to order a serving of Nachos with chicken for our appetizers. With an order of nachos you have the choice of adding steak or chicken to your order. The nachos also include black beans, pico de gallo, pickled onions, queso fresco, guacamole, melted cheese and morita sauce. The serving size was quite big for appetizers and it was filled with flavor!

Entrée

I decided to order the Enchiladas con pollo (enchiladas with chicken). Meanwhile my sister decided to get chicken tacos. Both were very warm on arrival and had fresh vegetables to compliment the meals. The serving sizes were also quite right considering we were already full from the appetizers.

Even though I did not get a picture of the Tacos my sister ordered, for the purpose of this blog I will include an image posted by Cantina’s Instagram (and you could also check their page out for updates!).

Rating

Cantina’s service was fast and the waiter kept up with our orders and also checked in the right amount of times. The food was filled with flavor, warm and the serving sizes were just about right. For a total of about $88 the food and drinks were definitely worth their price tags. I would give Cantina Rooftop a 10/10 and would definitely visit again.

  1. Wow girl! Your website has me drooling! I love the pics you included and I have heard about this restaurant in which now I have to plan a day to go out there and try their enchiladas con Pollo.

  2. I must say I really like the idea of making your new website a foodie blog, if you’re interested i actually know a few spots you should check out in the New York Tristate area such as: Peppas Jerk Chicken in the Lower East Side, Oasis Cafe in Queens & Sophies Cuban Cuisine in Midtown Manhattan. Those are three of my go to spots.
